Penicillin
Fresh
A modern classic, the Penicillin was created in the early 2000s in New York City. This drink has a bold yet bright flavor profile. A Penicillin features both smooth blended whisky and peaty single malt for a more complex drink. These strong flavors are balanced by zingy ginger and sour lemon for a strong yet wonderfully refreshing cocktail. If you don’t have a juicer, feel free to substitute ginger beer or ginger syrup for the ginger juice.

PENICILLIN’S ORIGINS
Developed in the early 2000s, Penicillin’s name references a time when lemon and ginger were widely used as remedies. . The creator of Penicillin (the drug), Alexander Fleming, was also Scottish – so it’s fitting that the Penicillin drink is made with two types of Scotch.
The bartender who invented the Penicillin, Sam Ross, happened to be playing off our favorite golden hour cocktail – the Gold Rush.
