ELECTROLIGHT

Short & Strong

Served up at the winning Chivas Masters 2019 Pirouettes bar, Electrolight is a flavour sensation. Using aromatic Chivas Mizunara as its base, this cocktail recipe features the beautiful, tropical flavours of coconut and pineapple. Rinsing the glass with absinthe instead of adding it into the mixture adds just subtle hint of aromatic anise, but not enough to overwhelm the other flavours in this drink.

Old Fashioned glass

50 ml
Chivas Mizunara
20 ml
Honey & Coconut Cordial
2 dashes
Pineapple Bitters
Absinthe rinse

PRO TIP

To do the absinthe rinse, simply add a dash of absinthe to a glass and swill it around. Alternatively, you can add the spirit to a spray bottle and spray the inside of the glass

CORDIAL

To make the honey and coconut cordial, blend 2 parts honey with 1 part coconut water

ADD THE ACID

Optional add on is to add 2g of citric acid per every 100ml of cordial to make it more acidic

POUR

Add the Chivas, cordial and bitters to a mixing vessel

STIR

Fill to the top with ice and stir for approximately 20 seconds

FANCY MAKING YOUR OWN CORDIAL?

You can make a range of cordials by simmering your chosen cocktail ingredients with one part sugar and two parts water, alongside a touch of citrus juice or citric acid to balance the sweetness.
