Banana cocktails might not be on everyone’s radar, but they will be after you try this. This Bananaball recipe pairs sweet banana liqueur with herbaceous Club Mate soda and smooth Chivas 12 for a completely new type of Whisky Highball.

40 ml
Chivas 12
12.5 ml
Banana Liquer
1 dash(es)
Angostura Bitters
150 ml
Club-Mate Soda
Lemon Zest & Thyme Sprig, to garnish

PRO TIP

The key to a perfect Whisky Highball is to fill the glass with plenty of ice so they’re extra fresh

POUR

Add Chivas, banana liqueur and bitters to a glass with ice

Stir, add soda and give a small stir again to blend ingredients

Add another cube of ice if needed to make sure ice is tight and compact

Garnish with a slice of lemon and sprig of thyme, then serve

Club Mate soda is made from the Yerba mate tea shrub, which is native to South America and rich in herby notes and caffeine.
